Ahhhh... Life in the woods is so serine. Relax, lean back, breath... And then you start to look at things... Like really look at them. My brick path is not straight. No not at all!! It is crooked and they lay the bricks all Willy Nilly!! The bricks are going in different directions. MANY different directions.
Now, with that said, it is going to be impossible to make the path straight, so I shall rip it out and start over.
Step one - remove and stack all bricks as I deconstruct the 40 foot long path.
Step two - carve out of the ground a new path for the bricks.
Step three - decide you need to remove the horridly cracked pavement steps. How does one do this?? OHHHH, get a sledgehammer and WACK it. Wait a week to finally borrow fathers, because frankly - I am sore from all that other manual labor. (This does not work - I am not strong enough)
Step four -friend text need help?? YES PLEASE!! Friend is much stronger and still struggles, however breaks it down and we are "cookin with gas" finish outlining the brick path.
Steps five through ten - lay the rock and mortar mix so the brick doesn't settle nor slide about and eventually look just like before, tamp all the ground so the bricks stay where they are placed, lay the brick in a fashionable order - NOT Willy Nilly. Spread sand in the spacing so there is minimal movement of said bricks. Back-fill the trench dug to place brick path into. Rake ground around area to make smooth and pretty.
Ahhhh... Life in the woods is so serine. Relax, lean back, breath... And then you start to look at things... Like really look at them. My brick path is beautiful and straight... The soil is not. No not at all.. Now I need a rototiller. I need to grind up this earth and replant grass.
Step one - locate a tiller. This was not as hard as I imagined. I have a few at my disposal. One is delivered within the next week for my use.
Step two - friend text need help?? YES PLEASE!! Friend is much stronger and still struggles, however does a fantastic job after a few passes and we are once again "cookin with gas"
Step three through five - buy proper type of grass seed ( FYI - one heck of a board meeting took place with all my personalities who struggled with the CSR at the home improvement store, as I am finding myself standing in simple amazement and in total awe of the thousands of styles of grass one can purchase) Rake & spread seed mixture. Water and wait...
Ahhhh... Life in the woods is so serine. Relax, lean back, breath... And then you start to look at things... Like really look at them. Ladies and Gents, I have baby grass :) the Path is straight and even and no wiggly bricks, the ground is smooth and blended and now plush and green.
Shoosh - Home owner life - I LOVE IT
Thanks for the read XOXO!!
